Graduated 1965 Elm City High School.  Graduated with Honors, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1969.  Completed 33 hours of graduate study toward Master of Electrical Engineering Degree at North Carolina State University.  Completed 9 hours of graduate study toward Master of Business Administration at East Carolina University.  Licensed by State of North Carolina as an Engineer in Training in 1971.  Licensed by State of North Carolina as Professional Engineer in 1974.  Passed qualifying examination for Unlimited N.C. Electrical Contractor’s license in 1976.  Passed qualifying examination for Unlimited Virginia Electrical Contractor’s license in 1978. Currently also licensed as a Professional Engineer in South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia.  Passed qualifying examination for N.C. General Contractor's Public Utilities license in 2003.

Military Service:
Commissioned Second Lieutenant in United States Army Reserve in May 1969.  Honorably discharged with Rank of Captain in May 1977.

Civic & Professional Experience:
President, Wilson County Shrine Club in 1982. Chairman, Professional Engineers in Construction Practice Division of Professional Engineers of North Carolina in 1976.  President, Eastern Carolina Chapter of Professional Engineers of North Carolina in 1978.  Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers 1967 to present.

Responsible for estimating, design and management of projects ranging in size up to one million dollars.

Responsible for managing department and for developing and managing design-build negotiated work with yearly volume of one to three million dollars. Supervised staff of three to six draftsmen, estimators, salesmen and project engineers.

Graduate of Wilson Technical Community College with Motors and Controls Certificate.  Graduate of North Carolina State University, Batchelor of Science in Business Management, 2000.  Graduate of Greenfield School, 1996.  Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour Safety; Trenching and Excavation competent person; 3M QTIII Terminations.

Civic & Professional Experience:
Master Mason. Wilson Lodge #712.  Wilson Technical Community College Electrical Advisory Committee, 2004 - Present.  Greenfield School Board of Trustees, 2004 - Present.

Experience:
Vice president since January 2005, managing daily operations for a team of three project managers, one field manager, two general foremen, an office manager, a fleet manager and a productive work force of 45 employees.  Passed qualifying examination for Unlimited N.C. Electrical Contractor’s license in 2006.  Passed qualifying examination for N.C. General Contractor's Public Utilities license in 2003.  Responsibilities include: financial stability including budget analysis, cash flow, receivables and payables; oversees bonding and insurance requirements and projected needs based on market trends and conditions; estimating accuracy and competitive pricing for all projects; equipment and fleet purchases; employment decisions regarding hiring and termination.  Since 2000, experience as an estimator, project manager, and assistant superintendent for Barnes & Powell Electrical Co., Inc. for projects up to $3,000,000.00 in value.  Part-time experience as a full-time student.

Approximately 15 years as Journeyman Electrician in Washington, D.C. area.  Approximately 5 years as electrical construction foreman in Raleigh, N.C. area.  Experience since 1979 as electrical superintendent for Barnes & Powell Electrical Company, Inc. of numerous electrical projects up to one million dollars in value in the Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville and Wilmington area.  Possess unlimited classification N.C. electrical contractors license.

Experience since 1985 as project manager for Barnes & Powell Electrical Company, Inc. specializing in airport lighting and controls, medium voltage distribution, and generator projects up to $3,000,000.00 in value.  Possesses unlimited classification N.C. electrical contractors license.  Possesses N.C. general contractor's building license qualification.  Possesses N.C. electrical contractors license.

 

Tony Core - General Foreman

Education:
Graduate of Erwin High School, 22 years in the National Guard, honorably discharged with a rank of E-5.

Experience:
Experience since 1981 as an electrician, foreman, and general foreman of projects up to $2,500,000.00 in value, specializing in office and commercial up-fit consisting of lighting, power distribution, UPS, and voice/data installations; medium voltage distribution; and generator installations, coordinating with multiple trades in all areas.  Extensive experience in overseeing multiple crews and in excess of 50 workers for preventative maintenance and shutdown related work, working under extremely restricted time frames and conditions.

 

Larry Pierce - General Foreman

Education:
Graduate of Rock Ridge High School, 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corp., honorably discharged with a rank of E-5.

Experience:
Experience since 1984 as an electrician, foreman, and general foreman of projects up to $2,500,000.00 in value, specializing in airfield lighting and controls including runway and taxiway lighting, beacon tower, PAPI, REIL, VASI, MALSR, vault regulators and controls for all installations; generator and fuel piping installations up to 2MW in size; water and waste water treatment power and controls; medium voltage distribution including in-line and tee-splicing, terminating, 500MCM cable, duct bank, sectionalizing switches and transformers up to 25V.  Extensive experience overseeing multiple crews during outage and shut down periods where safety and time are critical to restore power; possesses unlimited classification N.C. electrical contractor's license.
